A Late Gothic Madonna holds the Christ Child on her left arm and an orb and cross, referring to Christ's rule over the world, in her right hand. She is wearing a blue shroud tied at the waist and a golden mantle tied across her chest. The Christ Child has a very gentle and vibrant expression on his face, in contrast with the relatively rigid expression on the Madonna. The drapery is deeply cut, respecting the turn of Mary's leg under the mantle. Polychrome wood.
