The painting captures the expressive portrait of an old man. As it lacks attributes, it is impossible to determine exactly which figure is depicted. It is among the typical portraits and studies of the heads and busts of old men painted by Brandl from the second decade of the 18th century. In terms of technology and style, the work bears all of the signs of the artist's mature brushwork, so there is no doubt as to the authorship of the painting. Oil on canvas. Assessment by Professor Vít Vlnas, restoration report by Šárka and Petr Berger.
