Oil on canvas, signed in bottom center "V. Hejna". Residue from an inscription label on the stretcher frame. The artist, a major young figurist in the second half of the 1930s, was strongly influenced by French modern art -- especially Horé Daumiér and his interpretation of matter and volume. He was also a founding member of the art group Sedm v říjnu (Seven in October).
