Sadeler dedicated the cycle of twelve months according to Pietro Stevens to Baron Ferdiannd Hoffmann, chief councillor and president of the court chamber of Rudolf II. The cycle is exceptional in that it follows the usual depictions of the activities and entertainments of the months, but also bears Sadeler's artistic license. The cycle also traces his connection to Prague, which appears in individual views of the landscape, often highly stylized. For example, the Chapel of Corpus Christi (now demolished) and the Church of St. Apollinaris are interesting in the allegory of December. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
