Kryštof Hošek (1984) OMAGGIO PROF. H.

A loose portrait sculpture created in honour of Professor H., shifted into a witty, playful caricature. In the exaggeration and hidden symbolism one can discover the favourite and central theme of Professor H. This is the author's own, original casting.  The author created the sculpture at the 9th International Symposium of Cast Medals, Plaques and Small Sculptures in Uherské Hradiště in 2007. Kryštof Hošek is one of the most outstanding artists of the younger middle generation. Many of his large-scale sculptures are designed for public space. With his sculptures, which oscillate on the border of decadence, caricature and pop art, he critically reacts to contemporary social or political events. His handwriting takes on an almost hyperrealistic form at times. He has recently exhibited at the Kampa Museum, NG Prague, DOX and GASK Kutná Hora.
