The work of Milan Antonín Beránek is one of the other lines of art of the second half of the 20th century, which, however, has long been hidden from a holistic view. It deserves attention, however, because it tells us about important moments not only in the history of art, but also in the social and political events of the time, and thus helps us to form a more complex idea of the life and work of an individual. From the very beginning of Beránek's work, when he first picked up the stamped plasticine, his aim was to represent inner processes, loneliness, fear or joy, to bring from the depth of the mind or soul into the material three-dimensional world. At first in these intimate sculptures we observe representations of the human body formally similar to Henry Moore's sculptures. Unlike Moore, who rejected complex titles and descriptions of his works, Beránek often attaches poems to his works.
