AN ITALIAN BAROQUE MIRROR

This impressive very rare Baroque richly carved mirror with faceted edges and stepped scrolling oval mirror medallion comes from Naples and has elements of Venetian Baroque morphology. Gilded masterfully carved motifs of winged dragons perched on architectural elements, sirens, an angel, volute acanthus and stylized palm leaves and ruffles dynamically decorate the mirror frame symmetrically around its perimeter. Above the mirror with rococo rocaille. Excellent preserved condition.
