In utility ceramics, which Alena Kroupová devoted her entire life to, morphology manifested reminiscences of Asian, especially Chinese or Japanese ceramic works. This pottery, like the author's oldest vessels from the early 1950s, is characterized by sober, simple shapes. From 1957, the artist began to use innovative materials in collaboration with František David in Štěchovice. Until then, unusual materials in individual work: highly fired colored earthenware and coarse fireclay, and since the early 1960s also technical porcelain.
