Bohumír Matal (1922 - 1988) A BIRD ACTOR

Bohumír Matal is one of the leading representatives of Czech art in the second half of the twentieth century. Undoubtedly, his work was also influenced by internment in Nazi labor camps, which awakened his creative imagination. Man and his role became the subject of his research both on the thematic and technical side, when he was looking for new ways of expression. After many experiments, Bohumír Matal turned to lyrical abstraction in the 1960s, and after 1968 he created the cycle Bird Actors, where he played with the architecture of the character and the bright colors.
