Otto Gutfreund (1889 - 1927) LYING FEMALE NUDE

Otto Gutfreund's highly cubist form represents the imaginary peak he reached before the First World War. Inspired by Picasso and Braque, it spreads female curves into a topographic map, and the architecture of the human body is more like a landscape. Otto Gutfreund, the founder of Czech modern sculpture, whose work still enjoys unceasing collector's interest, is one of our most important sculptors of world importance.
