František Kobliha has left a subconscious trace in people's minds with his inimitable style typical for their dreamlike melancholic and cosmic visions, portrayed by the artist primarily depicted in his fine prints, which formed the foundation of his work. He studied at Prague's School of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts under František Ženíšek; from 1901 his works regularly appeared on the pages of Zlatá Praha and he earned public recognition by exhibiting with the Sursum art group in 1910. One of the leading figures in the second generation of Czech symbolists, František Kobliha has had a major impact on the Czech art scene.
