Václav Vojtěch Novák (1901 - 1969) EVENING IN SOUTH BOHEMIA

The twilight landscape of Václav Vojtěch Novák is constructed in his standardized geometric structure. After visiting Paris, traces of Cubism and Fauvism began to appear in his work. This depiction of South Bohemian evening is quite typical Novák's subject from the times when he painted around the river Nežárka. Václav Vojtěch Novák studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague with professors V. Nechleba, V. Bukovac and M. Pirner.
