Fused, cut, partially polished glass. Signed below: "V. Bachorik". In this object Bachorík departs from his usual cone and ring principle, instead using a circle that evokes the generalized movement of planets in the solar system. It is most attractive and glowing in topaz: warm orange with tones of red and vibrant yellow. Bachorík's objects burst with light, massive in size yet pure in form. Simple geometry sets a cunning game of unexpected shapes and colors into play. Bachorík attended the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and has worked with glass for 30 years. He has exhibited extensively in many countries and is primarily known in the United States, where his work is represented in public and private collections and museums. Luna is also represented in the Mint Museum in North Carolina.
