Galvanized sheet metal. This printing matrix, achieving aesthetic qualities as an independent work of art, is by Eva Bednářová, a printmaker and illustrator who studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague under Professor Antonín Strnadel. She was a member of the Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists; her work was exhibited in a number of institutions and can be found in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, Prague City Gallery, Memorial of National Literature Prague, Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava, Karlovy Vary Art Gallery and more. In 1967 she won the gold for graphic art at the 1st Prague Salon 1968, and in 1978 she received an honorable mention in the Most Beautiful Book competition, the Grand Prix at the 2nd International Biennale of Illustration 1968, 1st prize at the 5th International Biennale of Illustration and Applied Graphics in Brno. In 1977 she received the Silver Medal at the IBBY in Leipzig.
