The mood from a chilly walk after the rain is executed with masterful, impressive brushstrokes and with light using the effect of the puddles. The painting “From Stromovka” is an early work by the talented and not fully appreciated painter Karel Boháček. One major aspect of his later post-war paintings was the symbolic depiction of man's organic coexistence with nature. During his peak he inclined towards Neoclassicism, especially in his landscapes, painting natural themes from the area around his native Zamachy in a number of large compositions.
