Ebony, bone, copper, brass, iron. Born in Chișinău, Moldavia, in 1952, Boris Tselnicker started to create his first sculptures after his return from the Far East in 1981, bringing with him various materials such as bone, whale tooth, walrus ivory, deer antler and stone, finding much inspiration from the material. A Moldavian museum purchased a large collection of his bone miniatures, and his sculptures are included in private galleries and collections. In 1983–1987 he studied Art History at the university in Yekaterinburg. In 1990 Tselnicker moved with his family to Israel, where he joined the Union of Israeli Artists. He has participated in many group and solo art exhibitions in Israel, the United Kingdom, United States and Russia. In Israel he created hundreds of works from a combination of various materials, including silver, bronze, iron, exotic wood and Japanese paper. In 1993 he studied at the Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts in Jerusalem. Since 2005 Tselnicker has been making unique dolls, organically combining various materials such as wood, silver, bronze, copper, leather, iron and bone.
