The artist studied design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in 1984–90, where, under the influence of the important Czech glassmaker Karel Vaňura, he started to focus on glass. Vlček's glass sculptures are typified by their simplicity of form, which is practically reduced to a symbol. He often combines glass and metal.
