According to PhDr. Blažíčková-Horová, it is very likely that the work was made in the 1890s at Château d'Ambleville in central France owned by the painter's father-in-law. Here he often enjoyed painting village scenes with villagers and animals. In them he shifted away from strict academic painting: one can see a certain looseness in his brushwork, and his joy working with soft, natural light is evident. Oil on canvas, signed "V. Brožík" on bottom right. Expert assessment: PhDr. PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová.
