Dana Vachtová (1937 - 2023) VASE

Dana Vachtová graduated in 1963 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Prof. Kaplický. Her work is highly experimental, in the 1980s she became famous for her avant-garde realisations on the borderline of conceptual and land art. Her strongest expressive work is from the 1990s, when she turned thematically to biblical and existential themes. She makes her objects using either the technique of fused sculpture or lost wax casting, which allows her to work with fine detail and subtle modelling.
