Large paired busts with a polished white finish represent two images of bishops by the important Czech sculptor Ignác František Platzer or his pupils, created in the second half of the 18th century. The busts, placed on plinths with an infulio and a baroque cartouche, are made with a great degree of elegance and attention to detail. Ignác František Platzer was a Czech-Austrian sculptor and carver active in the late Baroque and Classical periods. He is one of the main representatives of the sculpture of the second half of the 18th century in Bohemia. His works were informed by the Viennese mannerist classicism of Georg Raphael Donner and Paul Troger, but at the beginning the artist adapted to the requirements of the Prague environment and worked more in an expressive baroque style. Later, he moved towards classicist tendencies.
