Czech artist and sculptor Jan Kutálek is known for his distinctive ceramic figurative work. Since the 1950s he has also focused on applied art in his ceramic work. His work is most influenced by the work of the Italian expressive ceramist Salvatore Fancello. Kutálek drew for his works mainly themes from Czech and Greek mythology, legends and fairy tales. His work is characterised by unusual playfulness, unusual poetry and is endowed with a special charm, which is also represented by the offered work depicting the Slavic goddess of fertility. Kutálek's work is represented, for example, in the collections of the UPM in Prague, GHMP and GVU in Cheb.
