Jan Bedřich Minařík (1862 - 1937) ŘÍP MOUNTAIN

Prague Mařák's student Jan Bedřich Minařík studied landscape painting and mostly painted forest interiors and Prague nooks. He created a very colorful landscape work, which captures both the disappearing parts of the city and the idyllic sunny countryside full of the vital notes of greenery. In the composition Hora Říp, the azure cool colors of the sky are balanced by the fresh shades of the meadow, and upon closer observation, you can see finely executed details such as the figural staff and the outlines of the rotunda on top of the mountain.
