Ludmila Padrtová (1931 - 2016) FOREST ON SIGHT

Painting composition following the cycle of drawings: The language of colors - colored spots. In the second half of the 1950s, almost in secret, Ludmila Padrtová created a remarkable collection of paintings and drawings belonging to the broad stream of lyrical abstraction. According to art historians, her efforts at that time elevate her alongside Vladimír Boudník to the central figure of the beginnings of Czech post-war abstraction. The presented work belongs to her late work, which she followed up on works before 1961, when she ended her work prematurely.
