František Drtikol (1883 - 1961) EVE WITH AN APPLE

When František Drtikol sold his studio in Vodičková Street in 1935, he was 52 years old. He definitely stopped being a photographer, according to himself, and returned to his love - painting. His paintings dealt with the themes of spiritualized landscapes, symbolic figurative compositions, following photographs of nudes, and often depicted glowing figures of women, stripped of unnecessary earthly ballast. Women shining, archetypal beings who move through the landscape in which they have found an earthly paradise. Carefree, wise and sharing a transcendent world of knowledge and infinite possibilities. Evaluated by Stanislav Doležal Art. D.
