The conference table with centrally inserted leather was designed by Jan Bočan for the furnishings of the iconic building of the Czechoslovak Embassy in Stockholm, which was designed by architects Zdeněk Rothbauer and Jan Šrámek, in addition to Jan Bočan, and many other leading Czech artists who collaborated on the detailed interior decoration (Libenský, Brychtová, Brunovský, Demartini, Cígler, Kolíbal). The building was designed by architect Jan Bočan of Studio Beta in Prague (Studio Beta with Jan Bočan also won the competition for the new Czech Embassy in London, which in 1971 won the most prestigious architectural prize awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects). Jan Bočan worked on the building in Östermalm from 1968-1972 and the embassy was located there from 1972-1998. In addition to reception rooms, offices and service apartments, the building also housed a cinema, laundry, garage and a suite for the ambassadors. Original preserved condition.
