Jan Rýz (1946 - 2016) CONSTRUCTION III

The author's study of mathematics and art education was reflected in his creative expression, in which there is a natural connection between the artistic and rational components into one whole. Sports motifs, together with the reduction of shapes and a varied range of colors, have become his artistic features. After the experience with creation on paper, canvas, and plywood, he switches to three-dimensional artifacts made of various materials with the considerable invention. For Ryz, the original work, which often consisted of the experimental process of creation itself, is still waiting to be discovered and placed in the context of contemporary Czech fine art.
