The unique honeycomb structure of vitrucell enables the interplay of form and light, in which the contrasting quality of precise design and fascination with the material are successfully combined. The technical specification states that the maximum weight of one piece of glass that can be melted is three hundred kilograms with a maximum glass panel size of 130 x 270 cm and a minimum thickness of 2 cm. The vitrucell technique is completely unique in the world and its imitation would involve the use of approximately 50 technological processes. Zdeněk Lhotský is a broader artist who, in addition to glass, also deals with graphics, sculpture, photography and music. From a young age, he was close to other fields of art, which is evidenced, among other things, by the fact that in 1987 he became a co-founder of the Tvrdohlaví group. Among other things, he became famous in the world for the production of a sarcophagus for the Danish royal family, designed by the artist Bjoern Norgaard.
