Michael Haubtmann (1843 - 1921) IN THE DUNES

Michael Haubtmann was a German landscape painter, a student of Max Haushofer. He studied law, but in 1869 he gave up the profession and moved to Munich. He made a living as a landscaper. His works can be seen mainly in Central Europe, especially in Germany and Austria. Landscape In the dunes bears the traces of a Haushofer composition with a romanticizing theme of a seaside locality.
