František Vízner (1936 - 2011) TWIN TOWERS

František Vízner’s self-initiated work involved much experimentation. Although he primarily focused on vases and bowls, his Twin Towers reflect his intention to thoroughly investigate the strength of glass and its impact on the object’s overall expression. The monumental solid glass towers fuse with the purity and balance of the clear aquamarine tone, with stunning results. This is probably the first of three variations of the sculptures, which were created after the artist had visited New York City and were certainly inspired by the World Trade Center. The other two variations can be found in New York City and in the artist’s family.
