The poster artist, Max Švabinský, was celebrated as a remarkably talented illustrator and printmaker. In 1891 he became a member of the Mánes Union of Fine Artists; he also co-founded the Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists. His fine, confident style gave rise to a design for the special anniversary Mánes exhibition at the Municipal House in Prague in 1920.
