The painting is reported in the literature as 'missing'. It is one of the author's early works, produced when Frinta was still attending the Prague Academy, where his professors included Vratislav Nechleba and Max Švabinský. The painting carries clear indications of Frinta's liking for Neoclassicism and plain line drawing technique, which accompanied him in all his later work, although it was more focused on typography and print. In the art dealing business, Emanuel Frinta is a rare and high quality commodity. Published in the auction catalogue to CZECH NEOCLASSICISM OF THE 20TH CENTURY /1/ PAINTING DRAWING, Gallery of Art Prague and the National Gallery Prague, December 1985-January 1986, registration number 29. Oil on canvas, signed and dated on the right at the bottom Frinta 22.
