Although known primarily as a comedic actor, Hlinomaz was a man of many talents. He developed his own style of painting, which he called "surneonaivism". He depicted comedic scenes, magical landscapes and still lifes. Flowers do appear in Hlinomaz's work, but not as frequently as some other motifs.
