In "Russia Restituenda", Alfons Mucha demonstrates extraordinary social sensitivity and reflects the political situation in Russia after the fall of the temporary government and the rise of the Soviets. Mother Rus is symbolically depicted as an exhausted mother with sad eyes holding an impoverished child in her hands. Alfons Mucha undoubtedly drew the overall tuning of the poster from Christian iconography and added luminous halos and flying doves to the impressive expressions of the figures. The poster was intended to draw particular attention to the loss of life caused by war, famine and diseases, which affected mainly innocent women and children, and Western countries were to hear requests for food and grain supplies. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
