Václav Hollar (1607 - 1677) LARGE PROSPECTUS OF PRAGUE FROM PETRIN HILL

Etching published in Antwerp consisting of three sheets (together measuring 29 × 113 cm) for the work Topographia Bohemiae, Moraviae et Silesiae. It was published not long after Hollar's next great view, that of London. Compared to Sadeler's projection, for example, it is a more realistic conception that also reflects the contemporary atmosphere of the city. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
