Jan Vyleťal (1940 - 2013) REGULAR STAR CLUSTER

The twin brother of the well-known imaginative painter and poster maker Josef, he created a very balanced and remarkable work of almost two hundred paintings, which, according to the leading geometric art expert Jiří Valoch, probably has no parallel in the sphere of geometric abstraction for its originality both in domestic and world art. His technically extremely demanding paintings full of fantasy and mystery are at the same time a unique artistic expression of the author's close relationship with astrophysics and the development of the cosmos. A regular star cluster vibrates light locked in a tight and defined gravitational field and visually resembles the formation of the open Pleiades star cluster. In the work, Jan Vyleťal intensively perceives and analyzes the relationships and distances between individual stars.
