Jiří Mrázek (1920 - 2008) LANDSCAPE - WOMAN

Jiří Mrázek was a founding member of the UB 12 group. In the 1960s, his work is characterized by abstract landscape painting, which resulted in fantastic landscapes with a distinct erotic subtext (Landscape-woman cycle). Mrázek worked with the contrast of the irregularity of natural phenomena and the fixed and regular geometric order, and with the contrast of flat and plastic rendering. He repeatedly returned to the figuration and theme of the landscape, the variability of which greatly inspired Jiří Mrázek.
