Convolute of two Ortelius maps published in Antwerp, measuring 37 x 53 cm and 40 x 50 cm. Abraham Ortelius (also Ortel, 1527/28-1598) an important Antwerp publisher and popularizer of cartographic production. He studied classical philology and mathematics. Colorful decorative plates and cartouches with volute architectural elements, the Czech lion and the Moravian eagle.
