Hand-knotted wool carpet on cotton warp, the wool is of velvety quality and in Iran, it is called "kurk" in this quality, which is also the name for fine down feathers. The successful floral design is particularly famous in the town of Veramin, south of Tehran, and is known amongst experts as 'minna khani'. In our case, stylized crimson daisies are connected by tendrils of vines and the resulting lattice shows a stylized rosette in the middle of a diamond design and a graceful composite (evoking the lotus) in the tendril circle. The composite is surrounded by delicate white daffodils and all this is complemented by a wide border of tiny flowers, palmettes and birds. Other popular Persian botanical motifs can also be discerned in the stripes around the border, especially carnations, peonies, and hyacinths. The color palette is traditional, with a combination of indigo blue and brick red from purely natural colors. The carpet is professionally double-sided cleaned. A collectible, investment, and practical rug that will dazzle.
