Adriena Šimotová (1926 - 2014) FROM THE CYCLE OF EVERYDAY GESTURES

Communication without words, with gestures and through the human body - all this is hidden in works full of deep emotion by Adriena Šimotová. The fragile beauty of her works, reflecting the difficult moments of her life, is characterized by minimalism, femininity, and moderate volatility, which draws passers-by into a quiet contemplation of everyday life and the gifts of life. Šimotová is one of the few Czech artists whose work is part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, known as the Center Georges Pompidou. In France, where she often exhibited and worked in the last years of her life, she was also appointed a Knight of the Order for Arts and Literature.
