Richard Kočí (1954) TOPO IV

Topo IV falls into the playful period of Richard Kočí's work, when he experimented with various materials. Topo belongs to a very limited series of 6 - 7 similar sculptures, which are characterized by a significant role of colors and morphological shapes. There is an abstraction of previous philosophically tuned works into a free form, which requires a masterful mastery of the craft and considerable concentration. With the exception of the band saw, only basic hand tools are used in production. The author himself says of his work: "I am closer to art, which contains the process of search, independent of artistic trends, but in accordance with the time we live in. It follows that tradition is important to me, because I believe that we are based on something and we're building on something. "
