Alena Nádvorníková (1942) INTRUSIVE MEMORIES

Alena Nádvorníková is not only a theoretician of art and a poet, but also the author of drawings of a surrealistic basis. The book, presenting her artwork, examples of poetry and a selection of critical texts, was published in 2011 by Arbor vitae. Her drawings cannot be easily forgotten. They are etched in the memory for the first time with their unsettling urgency. They upset, calling for focused attention. They go against the fur of what we might perceive as outwardly pleasing. They scratch, but at the same time heal. Her apartment is a concentrated intuitive composition of lines connecting all elements of the apartment - paintings, heating pipes and drawers.
