This buffet also comes from the interior of Professor Julius Glücklich's home, a Functionalist villa in Prague-Baba (Na Babě 2, Jarní 1798/3) designed by Josef Gočár. The buffet bears characteristic elements of Gočár's work with Cubist form. In this case the shapes are somewhat flatter, which allows us to date the furniture to 1914. It is comparable to the desk for V.V. Štecha made in 1914, which has identical mounts as the buffet offered here (see catalogue Český kubismus - architektura a design 1910-1925, p. 204). The furniture comes from the extensive collection of a Czech collector living in Germany. Caucasian walnut veneer, original brass mountains, black marble top.
