Otakar Hůrka (1889 - 1966) LANDSCAPE WITH TREES

Otakar Hůrka studied landscape painting with Alois Kalvoda and this genre fascinated him so much that he remained faithful to it all his life. In 1921, he exhibited the Czech landscape in the Spring Salon in Paris with great acclaim in the Echo de Paris, Petit Parisien, Journal. He painted mainly in the Elbe and Posázaví. In 1948 he was expelled from the Union of Fine Artists and until the end of his life he could not exhibit or otherwise present his works in public.
