Jakub Obrovský (1882 - 1949) THREE GRACES

Jakub Obrovský was born into the family of a peasant landowner and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts under Max Pirner. In 1909 he joined the Association of Moravian Fine Artists. In 1919 he became a professor of painting at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. His work also includes figural symbolist work and he also became a co-author of the first Czechoslovak postage stamps.
