Otakar Nejedlý went through a thorough artistic genesis, which included private studies with Ferdinand Engelmüllerr, friendship with Antonín Slavíček, who alienated his artistic style, as well as many trips that Otakar Nejedlý made. In addition to his trip to Ceylon and the former battlefields of the First World War, he was also enchanted by the southern landscapes near the Mediterranean Sea. He captured their ruggedness, colours and light in many variations. The captured landscape of Corsica, with its white flowering trees, documents the fleeting moment of petals flying, softening for a short time the lush greenery of Corsica and its azure sky and seashore. The starkly contrasting surrounding vegetation adds something foreboding and emotive to the flowering trees, revealing the artist's extraordinary sensitivity. Verso exhibition label of GVU in Cheb from Otakar Nejedlý exhibition 15.9. - 30.10. 2005.
