He transformed himself from a poet into an artist, gave the word a three-dimensional form, turned everyday objects into poems - such was Jiří Kolář. By combining collage and chiasmage, he transformed ordinary objects into artefacts. One such example is the work Somewhat Doughy Face, in which Jiří Kolář used puns to link the likeness of Saskia, Rembrandt van Rijn's wife, who often appears in his works with a distinctly round "doughy" face and a common part of the domestic kitchen.
