Aleš Lamr (1943) SWALLOWER

Aleš Lamr is one of the few convinced colourists on the Czech art scene, and his paintings are easily identifiable by their style. He was a promoter of pop-art during the period of normalisation. He is characterized by flat drawing and abstracted characters, filled with contrasting colours that look like a playful mosaic. Lamro's drawings are integrally composed in surface and detail and often contain urgent messages.
