Ivan Ouhel is one of the most important Czech colorists. He lets life flow through his paintings, colorful, pulsating and unrestrained. Colors appear here as unique entities that do not serve modeling, but communicate, contrast, affect emotions and form their own symbolism. In his paintings, circular and especially ovoid shapes represent receptacles for life, a theme that culminates in Ivan Ouhel's work in the 90s. Ivan Ouhel lets us look inside the Infinite in the egg, where extremely complex building processes take place, indicated by organic cellular structures and at the same time an abstracted singularity, which is impervious to the variability of possibilities and is limited only temporarily by the white shell of infinity, before it manifests itself in a specific form of new life.
