The portrait of a lady from Blatná Castle is one of the typical examples of Viktor Stretti's work from the given period. A popular graphic artist, painter and illustrator from the famous family of goldsmiths and baroque painter Jan Quirin Jahn, he spent his youth with the Cistercians in the monastery in Plasy and was educated first at UMPRUM and later at AVU in the studio of prof. F. Ženiška. In 1898, he went to Munich for an internship and mastered engraving and especially graphic techniques. He devoted himself to medallions, etchings and mezzotints. He specialized in pragensia and portrayed a number of important personalities - President Masaryk, Count Thun, sculptor Drahoňovský and others.
