Bedřich Stefan (1896 - 1982) SITTING BLACK MAN

Before World War I, Stefan studied at the School of Applied Arts under Josef Drahoňovský and Bohumil Kafka; after the war he completed his studies under Otakar Španiel. He went on to study at the Academy under Jan Štursa, and in 1924 he became an assistant to Otto Gutfreund. This statuette is a model for a bronze sculpture now in collections of Museum of arts in Olomouc.
